Data Sources
USGS Mineral Resources Data System (MRDS) — Maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey, MRDS contains information on mineral deposits, mines, and mineral occurrences throughout the United States and the world. Our database includes U.S. locations with verified coordinates.
MSHA Mine Safety and Health Administration — MSHA maintains records of all mines subject to the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977. This includes active mines, intermittent operations, and historical records of mines that have been abandoned or sealed.
